* Turbine fires cannot be extinguished by fire safety equipment because of turbine height, which exceeds 400 feet.
Causes of wind turbine fires include
typical high and low weather temperatures,
electrical shorts in wiring, overheating of generators,
lack of wind.  The most common cause: lightning strikes.
